Singe Parent Programs

There have been two Single Parent Forums where the children were supervised so parents were able to socialize and listen to speakers. They also won donated prizes, including books, CDs, artwork, and party goods. We were quite pleased with the response from several community service programs that hosted booths offering literature and other promotional materials. The forums - I Need a Break Today, I Want to Buy a House, I Want to Fix My Credit, I Want to Go Back to College, I Need Food/Clothing, and I Want a Better Job - were hosted by Consumer Credit Counseling, Valley College, Lutheran Social Services, Operation Hope, and the East Valley Community Action Group.
We also had two dynamic speakers: Joyce Rushing, a Hands for Hope Board Member and a single parent, and Leon Watts, founder of "Moms and Sons.com".

We will continue to build our Single Parent Resource Database and increase our membership benefits for the single parents who attend our forums.
