Good News!!

August 2008 - Northrop Grumman gives a Third Grant to Hands for Hope. They support many non profit agencies in the Southern California area. We are honored they have joined us once again to provide Life Skills and a College and Career Planning program for our Teens.
July 2008 - State Street Bank joins us again. Hands for Hope's New and Improved Teen program received support from State Street Bank. They sponsor Educational Enriching programs and we are glad they have joined us again.
August 2007 - Freida C. Fox Foundation joins us again. Freida C. Fox was a wonderful musician. Her legacy lives on in the support Hands for Hope receives to continue music education for youth.
July 2007 - State Street Bank. Hands for Hope is proud to be a member of the City Scholars Network. Through this network we met State Street Bank and we have now received our first grant. Thank You State Street.
July 2007 - H4H receives second LA County Arts Two Year grant. Arts Education program once again receives general operating support from LA County!!.
May 2007 - More Grants from Disney and Northrop Grumman. Hands for Hope is honored to be chosen once again by these two funding sources!!.
September 2006 - We Care America awards H4H the Model of Hope award - what an honor to be chosen from all of their grantees!!.
June 2006 - LAUSD chooses H4H. Hands for Hope was chosen as one of 34 After School care providers approved to host a site on a LAUSD campus!!.
May 2006 - Hands for Hope receives grants from Disney Community Cast Fund (Thanks to volunteer Pam Droughn) and Northrop Grumman for general operating support and Financial Literacy program
May 2006 - We Care America awards H4H $$$$ to develop curriculum and evaluation plan.
March 2006 - Hands for Hope Executive Director receives award to attend Leadership training from City Scholars! - Executive Director Kelli Hogan spotted the Woman's Day article and award to H4H ED Lydia Floyd in November 2005 .

March 2006 Hands for Hope receives Technical Assistance grant from We Care America! - .

January 2006 - Hands for Hope receives second grant from The Freida C. Fox Foundation! - Thank you to the Fox Family Foundation once again for another grant to hire a Grantwriter. The Foundation took a close look at our needs and gave us the type of support that will last longer than one grant would. We are extremely grateful to the Fox Family.

January 2006 - Hands for Hope receives another grant from County Supervisor! - Special Thanks go out to County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky for the grant to purchase air conditioners. This is the kind of support small organizations need.Thank you to Zev Yaroslavsky for recognizing that kids find it difficult to learn when the temperature rises.

August 2005 - Another award for Founder and Executive Director, Lydia Floyd! - Voice teacher Brooks Almy submitted her name to Woman’s Day magazine and she has been selected as one of four women who were featured in the November 15 issue. Thank you to Woman’s Day magazine staff for highlighting women who inspire all of us.

July 2005 - Hands for Hope receives grant from LA County Arts Commission! - Thank you to LA County Board of Supervisors especially Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky for once again recognizing the integral part Hands for Hope plays in the lives of underprivileged youth. The Arts Commision chose to fund our Talented Hands Program which exposes the youth to Music, Voice, Drama, Dance and Art.

April 2005 - Hands for Hope receives grant from The LA Rotary Foundation! - Thank you to LA Rotarians for helping to support the program coordinator position. LA Rotary club members Derek Butler and John Saunders have also volunteered.

March 2005 - Hands for Hope receives grant from The Freida C. Fox Foundation! - Thank you to the Fox Family Foundation for a grant to hire a new Program Coordinator. They have also offered technical support which is really needed by the smaller non profit organizations in addition to financial support.
December 2004 - Hands for Hope receives grant from County Supervisor! - Special Thanks go out to County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky for the grant to upgrade the electrical panels and allow us to have air conditioning for our kids. The support of the local politicians goes a long way towards helping us help more kids.
November 2004 - Executive Director Lydia Floyd awarded Local Hero by Bank of America! - As part of Bank of America's Neighborhood Initiative, Hands for Hope Founder and Executive Director Lydia Floyd was one of five who received the Local Hero Award. Thank You to Bank of America and to volunteer Veronica Ahktar for submitting her name.
January 2004 - Hands for Hope receives grant from The Durfee Foundation! - Thank you to the Durfee Foundation for supporting the H4H After School Programs.
December 2003 - Hands for Hope receives grant from Boeing Employees Assistance Foundation! - Thank you to Boeing employees for helping to support the H4H After School Programs.

September 2003 - Hands for Hope receives a second grant from the CanFit Foundation! - Thank you to CanFit for providing an intervention grant to carry out the H4H Active Hands curriculum developed with the previous CanFit planning grant.
October 2002 - Hands for Hope Founder Honored - Our founder and Executive Director, Lydia Floyd, won the Avery Dennison Great Results Achievement Award for her exemplary work in the North Hollywood community. From over a thousand nominees across the nation, Ms. Lydia and nine others were chosen to receive this prestigious honor. The Hands for Hope staff extends their congratulations and a happy "keep up the good work" to our dedicated and vibrant director. Thank you to Avery Denison and to volunteer Patricia Colbert for writing to them about her.
September 2002 - Hands for Hope receives grant from the CanFit Foundation! - Thank you to Arnell Hinkle and the CanFit Foundation for helping to support the H4H Active Hands Program which promotes physical fitness and nutrition in underprivileged youth ages 10-14. This planning grant enabled Hands for Hope to fine tune its physical fitness curriculum.
February 2002 - Congressional Acknowledgement for Hands for Hope - In February 2002, Hands for Hope received a special congressional certificate "in recognition of outstanding and invaluable service to the community". While the services we provide are certainly their own reward, we're honored to receive such high praise.
New Website Coming! - The Charity Focus organization has chosen Hands for Hope as the beneficiary of a brand new website so stay tuned for the great changes these wonderful volunteers will be making to our website. Interactive, user-friendly pull-down menus will guide you straight to the information you desire; pictures of the kids and staff at work, play, and various events will give you an on-the-ground look at what we're all about; our partnership with PayPal will allow you to make donations and order tickets to any upcoming events. All in all, Hands4Hope.org will be a detailed reflection of and a powerful tool in our continuing mission of making a difference!
