Youth Programs
Youth Receive Academic, Arts, Health and Life Skills Training Monday through Friday from 3 to 6:30PM.
Smart Learning Hands Youth receive tutoring, homework assistance and participate in fun learning games. Each summer we host an Academic Summer Camp from 11 to 4PM where youth focus on a different subject each week including Math, Science, Reading and Writing.
Talented Creative Hands Every semester we offer Music in the form of musical instruments (drums, guitar, bass and trumpet). They also have classes in Voice and Dance. Each year for our Drama class the youth either make a film or act in a play (musical). To date they have performed excerpts from West Side Story, Little Shop of Horrors and most recently Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream".
Healthy Active Hands
This program is designed to promote self-esteem using physical fitness as a vehicle. Participants will learn the value of fitness as a lifestyle. Choices that will not only help them stay in shape but will help prevent or delay the onset of sickness and disease. Participants will learn the components of proper nutrition. (The benefits of eating properly.) and of exercise: (cardiovascular, endurance, strength, agility, flexibility etc). Classes offered include Kickboxing, Yoga, Tai Chi and Cooking and Nutrition
Successful Working Hands
All youth take career classes and learn basic computer skills. Our Entrepreneurial program includes a mock business where the youth create and sell a product in a factory setting. On occasion those products are really offered for sale such as cookies or most recently a disaster kit.
